  The Oxford Branch of British Friends of NSWaS organised a ’Peace Is Possible’ Forum at the Quaker Meeting House on Sunday 17th May; one of several fundraising events scheduled for 2009 which they hope will enable some children from the NSWaS Primary School to visit their Partnership Link School in Woodstock.

• "Freiwilliges Soziales Jahr" for German volunteers

  Till recently the social benefits of the
  so-called "Freiwilliges Soziales Jahr" provided by the German government were available only for
  young German women who did that service in Germany or neighbouring countries. Now it is possible to get it also in other countries like Israel, if the participants are well prepared and sent through an organisation recognised by the government.

  Since I was thirteen I was longing to live for some time abroad. I wanted to do some practical work and get more insights about the world, about people and about myself.
