Telling our story across N. America

WASNS development director Samah Salaime and long-term village member Vered Marom have been touring the US and Canada and speaking with a variety of audiences.

Yesterday they were in Manitoba, Canada. There, among four events, the highlight was a reception in Winnipeg honoring Abde (Albert) and Samira El Tassi, well-known philanthropists who have given to a range of charities and received numerous awards. Among Abdo El Tassi’s many activities is membership in an Arab-Jewish dialogue group that works for cooperation between the two communities in Canada. Meeting Samah and Vered he said "I founded a school for migrant children 23 years ago in this town, and now we can see the success that the kids bring to this country against all odds and you’re in your village still struggling for your education for peace, I decided to support your school starting from today״.

It makes us so very happy to find common cause and make friends with people around the world who are working hard to support similar issues and to overcome the same challenges. By our selves, our attainments may be small in comparison to the enormous demands; but together we can surely move mountains.
