A new school bus for the Primary School

WAS-NS manager Eyas Shbeta and School Principal Anwar Dawood were invited to a ceremony at the transportation department of the Mateh Yehuda Development Company to celebrate the purchase and entry into service of the new 52-seat Mercedes school bus, for which money was raised by associations of friends of Neve Shalom - Wahat al-Salam, the Folke Bernadotte Foundation (Sweden), the DVHL, Mercedes Benz itself and other foundations and friends of the village. Speeches were made by Mateh Yehuda Regional Council head, Moshe Dadon, and by School principal Anwar Dawood.

According to the same arrangement by which purchase of a number of school buses has already been supported by WAS-NS friends associations, the new bus will be operated by the Council. In return, the Council will cover the daily costs of transporting pupils to the school. This helps to provide safe transportation for the children - some of whom arrive from towns up to 30 kilometers away - while keeping school fees at an amount affordable to parents.
