Celebrating the Christian, Jewish and Muslim holidays
Friday 22 December 2006

In December and January of this season, the Hanukkah, Christmas and Eid ul-Adha holidays follow each other. This isn’t always the case due to calendar differences (especially with regard to Muslim holidays, which gradually move through the seasons).
At our school, the children often celebrate the holidays together, and that’s what happened this year for these three popular festivals.
In the photo, the symbols represent the Hanukkiah (the nine-pronged menorah of Hanukkah), Baba Noel or Santa Claus, and the sacrificial lamb of the Eid ul-Adha holiday.
