Anne Le Meignen goes for hospital care

Monday 8 June 2020

Anne Le Meignen, who, together with Fr. Bruno Hussar, founded the village, is now in her mid-90s. Anne, a native of France, has lived in Israel/Palestine for much of her life. During her years with Bruno she divided her time between the village and her small apartment in the old city of Jerusalem. After Bruno died, she moved into the small house constructed for her in the village. Eitan Kremer and a few other community members devotedly arranged for her needs.

Over the last year and a half, Anne has grown increasingly frail. Her hearing, vision and general mobility are impaired, and, in particular, she is suffering from a recent fracture. Looking after Anne at home has grown increasingly impractical. After consultation with her, we decided to accommodate her at the private St. Louis French Hospital in Jerusalem, which specializes in palliative care.

The communications and development staff, with whom she has worked closely for many years, and a few others, including the nursery children gathered at her home to say goodbye.

We hope that her stay at the hospital will ease her suffering.
