Visit by British Friends Group
Thursday 3 March 2016

Every year the British Friends of Neve Shalom Wahat al-Salam try to gather a group of people with serious interest in the work of Village, its educational projects and areas of concern for a tour that includes visits to the educational institutions of the village, acquaintance with village members, and interesting excursions in the region. Rita Boulos, the director of the Group Visits Program, helps to organize and coordinate the visit.
Touring Wahat al-Salam - Neve Shalom
This year, a small group of women came with British Friends chair Jenny Nemko. They arrived on Sunday, February 28 in time for a dinner and reception with WAS-NS functionaries and members. They spent Monday in the village, visiting the School, School for Peace and Primary School. Then, with Eitan Kremer, they took a "Peace Trails" walk that explained the historical significance of various sites. They concluded the afternoon with visits to homes of residents.
Field Trips in the Region
On Tuesday and Wednesday, with expert guides, they visited the "mixed" (Jewish / Palestinian) cities of Lydda and Jaffa, as well as Wadi Ara, where they were able to understand the route of the 1949 armistice line (or "Green Line") and that of the separation barrier.
The group gave a good overall rating to the visit and promised to stay in contact, through the British Friends.
