Visit to the Spanish Embassy

On Thursday, December 5, WASNS development director Samah Salaime visited the Spanish Embassy in Tel Aviv, where she met with the ambassador and deputy chief of mission in order to acquaint them with the village and its educational peace work.

The meeting took place thanks to the initiative of a Spanish participant in our recent annual general conference of friends associations*. She contacted the embassy, which, at short noticed scheduled the visit.

Samah was able to present the village and its educational institutions. Ambassador Manuel Gomez Acebo and his deputy chief of mission, Ms. Alejandra del Rio Novo listened enthusiastically and spoke of Spain’s support for a peaceful resolution to the Israel – Palestine conflict and her involvement in promoting shared society initiatives.

His Excellency said that he would be happy to schedule a visit to the village following the Christmas holiday and promised to connect us with peace organizations in Spain who could be potential partners.
