A meeting with Buddhist monks

October 2002

Two Buddhist monks, Tai Doji and Fab Min, from the community of Plum Village in France led a talk for NSWAS members and residents on the ‎subject of "Community life and attention to communication from ‎the heart." Senior monk Tai Doji began with a presentation of tools and methods which had been found useful in Plum Village to ease communication in Community Life. After his presentation, the discussion was opened for NSWAS residents, and a heartful interchange developed.

Plum Village (or Village des Pruniers), in southern France, is a community established by the well-known Vietnamese Buddhist teacher Thich Nhat Hanh. Several members of NSWAS have visited the community and take part in a Palestinian - Jewish sangha or mindfulness group established with a view to practice techniques such as mindfulness and deep-listening in the local context.
