Update on the art gallery, January-March 2021
Tuesday 13 April 2021

The Gallery Courtyard
The artworks displayed in the gallery’s courtyard continue to delight guests and give them a first taste of the art gallery. The courtyard successfully conveys our artistic vision and purpose, so we hope to add more artworks to it in the future.
Rabia Qadi Barhoum, a new resident in the village, has already given some hours to create a mosaic around the gallery’s side door; she will continue working on it soon:

The delay in repairing to water-damage resulting from the arson attack prevented the Gallery from setting up a new exhibition in recent months. Funds have been raised, and as soon as they reach the Gallery, we will be able to begin the repairs and bring a new exhibition. Meanwhile, the gallery continues to function in its other role as an art studio for adults and children, who are able to create and enjoy.

Other activities with village residents: Dancing ourselves with Ety Edlund, Charcoal drawing with Ella Shippin:
The recent months provided the opportunity to renewing or making new connections with artists, either in person or via social media. Some of these have already expressed their desire to take part in future exhibitions or other activities.

As mentioned in our previous report, in 2021, we hope to:
• Work together to overcome or learn to live with COVID together, as one planet.
• Continue to develop artworks in the Gallery courtyard;
• Host new exhibitions;
• Conduct new external activities;
• Bring groups to use the Gallery as a studio;
• Develop the Gallery’s social media outreach.
The Gallery’s vision statement:
The Oasis Art Gallery presents ways of life, thoughts and ideas that promote a universal cosmic view that includes all humanity: crossing borders, joining together to express ourselves, exploring, discovering new styles, cultures and colours.
Many thanks to the Oasis Art Gallery supporters.
