What’s going on in our country, with the right-wing government and proposed judicial reforms, and why should we be concerned? Howard Shippin, long time member of the Communications and Development team, has retired. Howard has been instrumental in everything from setting up our websites to keeping track of donations, and a hundred other things most of us were not even aware of.

Ira Elan is our newest team member. Ira is also a part-time women’s Wu-Wei Gung-Fu and Empowerment Self Defense instructor, and she brings a wealth of experience in donor relations to the job. In addition, we have an intern working with us, Isabela Dos Santos, a Canadian PhD student who is interviewing village members to understand how a model of peaceful relations functions.

Samah Salaime, Director of Communications and Development, was in Barcelona in March, for a meeting with the city’s mayor, Ada Colau.
