Children’s Theater in the Spiritual Center
This year, the Children’s Theater Group extended into the summer vacation with a week-long summer camp. Yasmin Bar Shalom Agmon, the director of the theater classes offered through the NADI youth club and the school, ran the summer camp for two age groups. The kids practiced improvisation, creating characters, movement and costuming. They also saw two plays and worked on short plays of their own, which they presented in a special performance in the PSCC for their parents and friends.

Children’s Theater II

Just before the end of the summer vacation, the PSCC hosted an event for children and parents: a performance by the Jerusalem Train Theater troupe. Children and parents alike delighted in the play, Once upon a World. This play combined creative puppetry with movement; without words and using humor, it had a lesson to teach about ecology.

A parent, whose three-year-old daughter asked to immediately see the play again, said: “The children learned that art can be interesting, fun and funny, without lowering itself to crass humor.”

Rebuilding the School for Peace:

Nir Sharon is the new project manager for the office renovation of the SFP building. He is entering the job while successfully completing the building of the language center for the Primary School. Nir has hired two contractors who have already begun to work: One is clearing away all of the greenery around the building; the second has removed the pergola over the walkway and has begun repairing the roof. Nir is working closely with Voltaire Shamshun on the plan, and he has put out tenders for contractors to begin the job of moving walls and redoing the interior.

Educational Association evening:
On the eve of the new school year, the Association board organized an evening held in the PSCC, including an acquaintance circle and dinner for staff and board members. Dr. Ariela Bairey-Ben Ishai led off, sharing personal fears and dreams. A delicious vegan meal was provided by Na’am, Arab Women in the Center.
